At Boardwalk Custom Builders, we are progressing through the Benlock phases with Sage Homes—a diverse community combining townhomes and single-family residences. This has been a rewarding and exciting build!
Project Challenge
The Benlock project brought unique hurdles: multiple management changes, coordination with several subcontracted framing crews, and steel erection delays. With so many moving parts, strong communication and flexibility were key.
The Boardwalk Solution
Our team leaned into adaptability and attention to detail. Instead of waiting during steel delays, we staggered our crews across multiple buildings, bouncing between phases as steel went up. This flexibility kept the project moving forward.
We also doubled down on pre-construction planning. Our COO carefully reviewed the plans, catching potential errors before framing began. By going the extra mile to ensure everything was in order, we saved Sage Homes significant time and money and built trust with both Sage Homes and the other crews onsite.
Looking Ahead
With the single-family residences scheduled for completion next year, we’re excited to see this community come to life. Projects like Benlock remind us that with the right approach, even complex builds become opportunities to grow, collaborate, and deliver lasting results.
